Four Shores is BrainStorm‘s 4th international album. Produced by Alex Silva , (known for his work on Herbert Grönemeyer’s album Mensch, Suede, e.t.c) mixed by John Smith. Recording took place in Medley Studio, Copenhagen, Denmark by the end of year 2004 and beginning of 2005.
The title Four Shores underlines the sore place where BrainStorm was placed after loosing the original band member and soulmate Muminsh in tragic car crash in May 2004. The touch of the Muminsh lives through the songs since band started writing the songs for the album before the tragedy. It is obvious the lyrics have been influenced by this loss. (Song French Cartoon most direct speaks about the lost friend).
Songs like Thunder Without Rain and Digitally Bright continues the theme about new technologies and human being interface nowadays. This theme BrainStorm touched already on albums Online and A Day Before Tomorrow. The actress Greta Garbo influenced lyrics for the song Lonely Feeling. BrainStorm‘s Renars comments on music and lyrics: “I see music and pictures and all kinds of arts as never-ending longing for some better path, for eternal love – something you even find hard to describe.”
Photographer Anton Corbijn, did photos for the artwork and press shots.
